HEALTHCARE
EMBARK Pediatric Hospital
This project focused on the healthcare industry and instructed students to design a specialized hospital. EMBARK (Elizabeth McMaster Building for the Aid and Recovery of Kids) is a pediatric care facility that specializes in the critical care of children. Inspired by the work done by Elizabeth McMaster, a Canadian humanitarian that founded SickKids, EMBARK is passionate about helping children and their families through their medical struggles.
The concept of the facility is focuses on exploration and the adventurous mindset children have. Each section of the facility incorporates a different region in the design such as tropical, polar, northern, and aquatic. Within each section educational technology and exciting decor will inspire and excite every child despite what they might be dealing with.
The facility accommodates to both inpatient and outpatient individuals as well as any other family members that might be joining them. Throughout the facility sustainable and medical grade materials are used to ensure safety of the patients as well as the environment. EMBARK is a modern and innovative facility that shapes the way the healthcare and interior design industry work together.
